The piano tuition is taught on an individual basis (we don’t teach group lessons etc). We teach the piano at all levels, from someone taking their first steps as a beginner to more advanced established players wanting to improve on their current technique, and who wish to study new styles of piano repertoire.
The piano teachers are experienced and friendly, and the lessons are taught in modern, well equipped music rooms.
The piano is such an expressive instrument to play and as a beginner you will find many challenges to overcome but with the teachers’ help and a little patience you will enjoy music making for life!
We look forward to meeting you, and helping you fulfil your dreams. The Piano lessons will be fun and rewarding for both you and the teacher.
It’s never too late to start playing the piano! We teach the piano from the age of 8 years and upwards. Learning to play piano can be so rewarding and makes a great pastime / hobby for young people and for the older generation! So get in touch and lets start making music :)
Remember, it’s never too late to start learning to play the piano.
Play tunes from Bach to Chopin, learn to play Pop hit’s and favourite Film and TV music. Chill out playing Ballads and little Jazz tunes. You will get so much enjoyment from playing the piano. Also have fun playing piano duets with the teacher.
Obviously this will take time and practice, just keep your sights set on the long term and you will be able to achieve this. Anything is possible, so make it happen!
Piano exams and piano music grades are not compulsory, but we often find that students ask about taking music exams.
We currently use Associated Board of the Royal Schools of music (ABRSM) and for a more relaxed piano syllabus ICMA (Independent Contemporary Music Awards).
Music Theory is also taught alongside piano performance pieces.
Play piano with emotion, feel the music and sense the mood. As you progress as a pianist and gain in confidence, the expressive nature of your playing with unfold (with the help of the teacher). It’s such a wonderful feeling when the music and your inner self takes you to unknown places! Does this sound crazy? Experience it for yourself,
you won’t know what you’ve been missing!!
Learning to read music will bring many benefits. Enjoy a larger selection of music in your repertoire without having to rely on keeping every tune in memory. It will also allow you to perform with other musicians and be more efficient. Read different interpretations of the same music, quickly and accurately, plus more besides!
As an artist perfects their brush strokes, or an athlete works on their strength and agility the same is true when learning to play the piano. Fingers, wrist, arms and brain need to be worked out! Agility / dexterity with the fingers, and coordination is important. Carefully chosen exercises by the teacher will help you achieve all these important aspects.
Focus / Concentration / Coordination / Improved Memory / Emotional Development / and many hours of enjoyment for you and your listeners!
